The project, which has been in the works since 2017, was originally scheduled for completion in the spring of 2020, but was postponed due to the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral and later jeopardized by the outbreak of the Covid 19 epidemic. The realization of this wrapping was one of the last wishes of Christo and is as much a tribute to this artist.
"It will be like a living object that comes alive in the wind and reflects the light. The folds will move, the surface of the monument will become sensual. People will want to touch the Arc de Triomphe," the artist explained.
