In the Pillerseetal hiking region, around the emerald green lake of the same name, a variety of tours lead into the mountains. There are great mountain panoramas as well as exciting themed trails for families to discover. The Pillerseetal lies between the Loferer Steinberge to the east and the Kirchbergstock to the west. If you want to look out over the idyllic valley, you can take a cable car directly to the Steinplatte plateau above Waidring on the Salzburg border. Further south, near Fieberbrunn, the Buchensteinwand rises into the air, with the 30-meter-high Jakobskreuz (St. James' Cross) on top.
