Day 1 | Arrival - All of Dublin in 48 hours28. June

Your arrival will be individual. We are happy to offer you an additional flight to Dublin International from all available departure airports.

On your journey into the city with the Airlink bus Dublin welcomes you and shows itself open and cordial.

Dublin - A city full of traditions and history, but not dusty. Educated but not arrogant. Cool, but not aloof. Dublin is a city of musicians and poets, whose songs and stories are present everywhere in the local pubs and cafes and can even be heard in the busy streets. An academic city full of museums, yet always ready for a glass of beer or two.

Your 3*** hotel in the city centre is already waiting for you. Check in and off you go for your first explorations. With your 48h Hop-on Hop-off ticket you can experience Dublin on your own! B&B

Day 2 | All of Dublin in 48 hours29. June

Start your adventure and take one of the open buses at 13 Upper O'Connell Street. Both the Blue Line and the Red Line take you to some of the most fascinating sights and buildings that make Dublin a unique city. Get off at the 3rd stop to explore Nassau Street. Art lovers should get off at the 5th stop to visit the National Art Gallery.

"Merrion Square - please get off at the 6th stop for a relaxing stroll through the enchanted park. Take a short break at College Green Plaza at the 8th stop, and if you want to try the Dublin lifestyle, you can quench your thirst with a nice cold Guinness, freshly brewed at Guinness Storehouse.

Remember, you can hop on and off as often as you like, so plan the tour at your own pace. B&B


Day 3 | Dublin - Castlebar30. June

Did you have a good breakfast? Surely you feel sufficiently motivated after two days of pulsating life in Dublin to go on exciting walks in Castlebar! In Heusten Station, easily accessible on your own, your train journey across Ireland to the Atlantic coast to Castlebar begins. In this less than 6 hour train ride you will come to the conclusion that Ireland has more to offer than just excellent whiskey or Irish butter! Let us take you away...!
Castlebar was originally a garrison town and takes its name from a settlement around the 11th century castle de Barra. Today's Castlebar is a town with a lively infrastructure. The remarkable county library, sports and leisure, art with numerous facilities, exhibitions, competitions and festivals such as the world famous International Four Days Walks or the Guinness Castlebar Blues Festival are just some of the many attractions.

Trip Cancellation

P.T.A. TOURS GmbH reserves the right to cancel the tour up to 28 days before the start of the tour if the minimum number of participants is not reached. Payments made will be refunded immediately. Premiums for travel insurance are not refundable.

Withdrawal from the trip You can withdraw from the trip at any time before the start of the trip. The following fees apply:

  • up to the 31st day before departure the amount of the deposit
  • from 30th to 21st day before departure 50%
  • from 20th to 15th day before departure 80%.
  • from 14th to 01st day before departure 95%
  • on the day of departure 100%.

Travel character / suitability

Due to its nature, the journey is not suitable for persons with reduced mobility.


Participation in our hiking trips/ programmes requires a certain level of fitness and health. If you are well prepared, you will easily be able to cope with the physical demands on the way. This will enable you to enjoy your trip to the full. We recommend that you take part in a preparatory training course that meets the requirements of your planned trip. To clarify your physical fitness, we recommend that you have a medical checkup with your family doctor at least 21 days before the start of your trip.

Individual participation in the IVV / IML Events

Participation in the IML / IVV hiking event is individual. Each participant is responsible for his or her own registration, unless otherwise expressly stated in the travel services.

P.T.A. TOURS GmbH is not the organiser of the IVV / IML hiking event or the accompanying programme.

The organizer of the event is solely responsible for the services of the IML / IVV Hiking Event.

If there are changes in the time schedule / program / social program or even the cancellation of the hiking event, the travel price cannot be refunded even proportionally. For other expenses, e.g. registration fees, transfer fees, etc., the organiser of the hiking event is the responsible contact person, even if these fees were passed on to the organiser by P.T.A. TOURS GmbH as an alternative for the guest.

Travel insurance 

We recommend the conclusion of an international health insurance, for hiking tours including mountain rescue.

We recommend the conclusion of a travel cancellation insurance.

Right to the picture / photo release / personal rights 

During the event / journey photos will be taken, which can be published for marketing purposes, in print and on the Internet. Please contact the photographer directly on site if you wish to object to the publication of your photos. Otherwise, we presuppose your consent.

The following data concern travellers with a valid German identity document and the destination Ireland.

Visa requirements
No visa is required for a stay in Ireland.

If you have any questions regarding specific entry and visa requirements for residents of Germany, please contact the relevant embassy in Berlin or the consulates in Cologne, Munich, Hamburg or Stuttgart.

Please note that visa requirements may change at short notice or may be treated individually. Only the responsible embassy or one of the responsible consulates-general can provide legally binding information and advice and/or information and advice going beyond this information. Please inform yourself in time.

Transit visa regulations
Persons requiring a visa require a transit visa. The following exceptions apply: Passengers with a valid onward ticket for the same day may stay in the transit area of the airport without a transit visa. The following citizens are exempt from this rule: Afghanistan, Albania, Congo DR, Cuba, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Moldova, Nigeria, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Zimbabwe.

Entry requirements
It is possible to enter Ireland with the passport, temporary passport, identity card, provisional identity card and child passport.

Validity of travel documents:
The travel documents must be valid beyond the travel period.

Special feature:
Airlines and shipping companies require photo identification (usually a passport or driving licence). Before you start your journey, find out what proof of identity is required by the airline, ferry company or travel agency you are using.

Note on lost/stolen travel documents:
It is not advisable to enter the country with identity documents that have been reported lost or stolen and have been recovered. It may happen that the Irish police will confiscate them because they are in the

Vaccination regulations
No vaccination is required for Ireland.

Vaccination recommendations:
The following vaccinations are recommended when entering Ireland:
- Vaccinations according to the current vaccination calendar of the Robert Koch Institute
- Hepatitis B, during long-term stays or special exposure
- meningococcal disease (ACWY), during long-term stays or special exposure
- meningococcal disease (B), during long-term stays, special exposure or under 25 years of age.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a lack of protection against measles a threat to global health. Both children and adults should therefore check their vaccination protection and complete it if necessary.

Due to the increasing number of infections with the novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV from Wuhan, increased immigration controls must currently be expected. This is intended to rule out the possibility of a viral disease, particularly among travellers from China. Nevertheless, imported cases of disease may occur in isolated cases. Please also note that travellers who have stayed in China within the last weeks (usually 10 to 30 days) before their planned arrival can currently be denied entry at short notice. Due to the special situation, it is recommended that in any case you contact the responsible foreign mission before departure to find out whether and how entry is possible.
